Gopher State One Call (GSOC), also known as Minnesota’s 811, was back at the Great Minnesota Get-Together for 2026! We were back in the Blue Flame Gas Association Building handing out our infamous yardsticks, spinning the APWA color code wheel, and talking to fairgoers about everything safe digging.
In addition to the contact 811 before you dig message, each of the GSOC yardsticks includes a handy reminder to hand dig two feet from each side of a utility marking. This is also known as the “tolerance zone.” Discover more about the tolerance zone, the locate request process, and more in the official GSOC Homeowner Guide.
“It was awesome to connect with so many fairgoers this year! They came with great questions about underground utility safety and were eager to learn more about the 811 process. We look forward to more conversations, connections, and of course yardsticks at the 2027 Minnesota State Fair,” shared GSOC Marketing Director Olivia Jensen.
Make sure to catch us back at the MN State Fair next year, and in the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team with any 811-related questions by contacting our Customer Support team at 651-681-7326 or [email protected].
